Dunlop DFH
The CIK-FIA is committed from 2014 onwards to a policy of limiting the costs of karting events. As part of this the tyre manufactures have had to design two tyres, a 'prime' and 'option' tyre. As part of the homologation process of the new tyres each 'prime' tyre has to do a total of 150km and the 'option' tyre must complete 250km of testing.
Dunlop has come up with the DFM 'prime' and DFH 'option' tyre. Both tyres tested very well. The DFH was a stand out tyre and did a total of 268.442km of testing, the most of any tyre put up for homologation. Also setting the fastest time by over 3 tenths to the nearest rival. The DFM tyre completed 151.211km of testing and had consistent times throughout.
For the first time on a Dunlop slick kart tyre these two compounds have a rotational arrow on them.
